A Strategy Game But Not An Actual Strategy Game - Here's Why

We had a lot of games that we tried last year. But it was not on the strategy game side. Though all games require strategy it seems this game branched out to a resource management kind of strategy. If you are here because of the title, I will explain to you why it is not an actual Strategy Game, read on.

Other games require wit to outgun the enemy and it comes with handling your troops, positioning, and timing. Even Mobile Legends Bang Bang requires strategy but most of the time, timing and map presence. But these things all fall into the strategy category.

Let’s take it slow as we have a lot to review this year, and let’s check this Rise of Cultures mobile game. I am not sure if a lot of you guys play this game but it seems it's not as popular as the others in its genre.

A lot of content creators that would have supported a specific game may give tons of praises on this game but not all content creators are like those. Though some will just skip this game and move on to the next big thing, because players will just play it anyways.

This is the Rise of Cultures, though it stayed with my phone for quite some time, it didn’t stay too long just before I reached the Egypt area of the game. Rise of Culture is said to be a strategy game but you kind of manage your resources more than strategize your next attack. Sometimes it is like clickbait for a game, that it appears to be easy but in the end it will just leave you high and dry.

Though I didn’t reach the entirety of the game, what I enjoyed here are the events. There are different cultures, different building skins. It is amazing, however as I progress there are 2 things that really turn me off playing this game daily.

Actually these 2 things are more connected with each other, it is all about the land area and how you manage your base. Unlike the other strategy games, the whole land is yours for the taking but you need to unlock units and defenses to safeguard your resources. This game is not all of that.

It is fine you have a different take on how you want your game to progress. There is this catalyst where you focus on building your base or what will be the units of your army composition. I like the concept of the culture thing of the game but your base is a mess.It is like a jigsaw puzzle. You have these structures with different sizes, and you need to fit it on a small land area which you need to unlock as you conquer lands. Though conquering lands in different stages does mean that you can get to unlock an area of your land, no, not all conquers give you a land.

You get to unlock more structures to expand your unit number and materials to unlock technologies and eventually you get to go further to the advanced ages, but then again you have this small land. Though the timing of unlocking the land and adding structures is fit to a “T” but I would say you will be on a hell of a base.

The two things that I really do not like about it are the land area. Give me my land and I will manage my units right? Land area is very important. This is where you get to put structures so you manage your land area and manage your structures which is not the winning factor of the game. You are restricted with your structures and for upgrades and you will see the horrific status of your base. Which is the second reason why I don’t recommend this game. The base which should be the center of your strategy is not so strategic looking.

The concept has potential but to put a challenge to your players, is not so well thought of idea. But if you are looking for just a single player game that you want to think of every night to where you want to put your barracks, this is definitely for you. It lacks something that needs to look forward to or something you build, you do not have enough room to be creative.
