Doctor Doom Easter Egg in Doctor Strange 2? Hiding In Plainsight
I used the word Doctor too much in this post and you missed that right? I really did not realize this not until someone spilled the beans. Then I thought yeah there is a machine that Doctor Doom owns in the comics. As fans we tend to think of things that are not as obvious as Easter eggs. Silhouettes, symbolisms, and small tokens that we tend to focus on and this one happened in front of our eyes realizing it could be a connection.
The first thought of seeing some articles about it is that the robots that assisted Strange to Illuminati are Doom Bots but I am wrong. Let’s go back and to what is this Doctor Doom reference in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. Actually we need to go back to Endgame. In End Game, Time travel is the one of the tools used in bringing all back from the Blimp and also in deleting Thanos. The team go back in time and collect the Infinity Stones and sacrifice Black Widow in the process. The stones were borrowed from the time they existed and were returned from where they were by Captain America in the end. The time machine was created by Tony Stark. When Stark was able to have figured out how the Mobius Strip works it was put together in a platform where they have time coordinates on their suit and move through different parts in the past and then go back to the original timeline.
Reed Richards is a brilliant man as he was introduced in Doctor Strange, he did not think of building a Time Machine, at least not in Earth-616. It was Doctor Doom that thought of building a Time Machine. The Time Machine that Doctor Doom built was a platform. A rectangular platform similar to how Reed Richards entered the room in Doctor Strange.
The connection that there could be a Doctor Doom in the MCU is the platform used by Reed Richards to meet Doctor Strange in the room where Illuminati were.
There are a lot of instances that Time Travel occurred in comics, Doctor Doom even used it to prevent the Avengers being formed. It was also used to stop a displaced Ultron in the future. This was also used by Sinister Six to delete Spider-Man completely in existence. These and many more instances that Doctor Doom’s time platform.
If that same Time Platform would be important in the MCU, we really could expect Doctor Doom within MCU. However, I am not sure how much emphasis they would put in this time platform or maybe it is just a one time “appearance” just to put the connection of it to Doctor Doom. We really can not say.
