Looking Back To The Games That We Once Love - Retro Gaming
The All Marvel All Month was a success and I really appreciate the love that the gaming community gave for the event. I would like to thank you everyone for this, and I want to feature this month the games that we once played. Appreciating the impact of games on our lives, either if it is for our relaxation, or a game that reminds us to be grounded. We need to be reminded of those games that were once part of our childhood. This May we will be featuring old titles that really have an impact on our lives.
Overly dramatic it may seem on the intro but there is that time that I really crave to play old titles. I played Valkyrie Profile, Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy, Diablo, and even Suikoden. These games really impact the kind of games that I play today. Final Fantasy, we are all fans of the storyline but the map is huge and really takes you everywhere, that influences me playing Action RPG games, and evolved to Open-World Games. Valkyrie Profile, the Norse mythology theme of the game relates me to hero collecting games like Epic Seven and Brave Nine. Same as with Diablo, before we call it hack and slash games that evolved to Action RPG games that gives me freedom to strategize my character if I do not have the upper-hand in some scenarios. Old games really influenced me in refining the games that I play today. It may be not applicable to others but these games that we once loved resonate to the games that we are playing now.
Beside the retro games we will still feature Marvel Future Fight updates, and Anime News that were set aside because of our All Marvel Event. MCU has been really busy on trailer after trailer and giving juicy updates beyond the current MCU updates, now we will put some anime news here and there to update you with a lot of updates on anime as well. The Anime community is continuing to deliver quality anime series and movies. If there is news about old games that are going to have a comeback we will definitely feature it this month. Similar to Legend of Mana which is on Steam, is an old RPG game and then they created a Definitive Edition to be played on PC.
Games have always been going back and forth. Pokémon has been there since Gameboy but like the Pokémon the game has evolved and evolved that really became a hit when Pokémon Go has been a thing. A game that lets you play outside and then it dies down to some and then pandemic hits the world, but still Pokémon is there. They come in different colors, sizes, shapes and formats but they are still the pet collecting game that you loved all through the years. Pokémon has always been my favorite game since Gameboy Advance. I played other Pokémon themed games. One of the Pokémon games that I did not play is Pokémon Unite, I think it defeats the story rich format of the Pokémon universe. It became a Battle Royale game which is not the type of format of a Pokémon I used to know.
There are also games that I really want to feature here which are Age of Empires II. This is the game that really sucked my wallet dry. I played the old Age of Empires II with my friends and we are really fond of the voice actors that chant “Hail King of The Losers”, that is absolutely funny. We really enjoyed playing it and I always picked the Teutons. They are a German-ish empire that has a unique unit called Teutonic Knights. Amazing armor can take out an army of Samurai or a platoon of Onagers. I will definitely post something about Age Of Empires II, though it is a Definitive Edition, I can also feature Age of Empires III.
This May we will all look back on the games that really matter to us. I have a list of games already to feature for this month and I hope to see you in the comments section of what you think of these games. If you can suggest more games so we can queue them up. Retro Gaming May is here!
