This Is Really An Addicting Game - First Thoughts On Genshin Impact
I got an iPad and finally I was able to play Genshin Impact. Probably this will be the first Gacha Game that I will be enjoying playing for the longest time.
The story is not that engaging I must say, but the play style made the story unfold in a different kind of experience.
The story is in chapters which is good but the story seems lame that a dragon that has issues with the people that he protects, got brainwashed easily by some Abyss Mage. It doesn’t add up but if you already finish the story don’t spoil it in the comments, though you can correct me here if I am wrong and let me find it for myself, ok?
Though the story sucks and it doesn’t make sense, it all goes to the part where you will unleash the dragon that gives a different experience.
Genshin Impact was created by Mihoyo. It is also released in all platforms, PC, mobile and to your popular consoles. Genshin Impact is an Open-World RPG game that features anime-style graphics and an action based battle system.
The fact that this game is free to play, you will never think that this will be the biggest game that was released in 2020.
This is also a hero-collecting game which you can tap in, tap out in your party. You need 4 characters for your party and there are 48 Genshin Impact characters, coming from different element bases plus your main character that could switch elements.
Besides the differences in elements the 48 Genshin Impact characters also have different play styles and weapons of choice. It is for us players to mix and match them according to what your mission will be.
Since this is all based in the elements, different foes and bosses are scattered all over the continent all have specific elements.
The 7 elements in Genshin Impact are:
Anemo
Pyro
Geo
Electro
Cryo
Hydro
Dendro
The journey will start in the continent of Teyvat, introducing you to the Statue of the Seven. You will start in the Anemo town, Mondstadt. Anemo will be your first element which means “Wind”. The game also has no annoying tutorial. Everything will be taught to you as you progress. Which is good that you will not be overwhelmed to learn everything. It will be taught to you if you will be doing it or using it.
You will name your own character and set its birthday. There is a fair notice when you set your birthday in the game, that there might be something good happen on your birthday. Once done with that off you go.
There are two ranks that you need to level up, the individual levels of your character and the Adventure Rank. The Adventure Rank is basically the one that matters as of the moment. It unlocks missions and you can not progress further to the quest if you don’t reach a certain amount of Adventure Rank.
There is this guild in the game, The Adventurers Guild that monitors your progress and gives you items if you reach a certain Rank.
In the game you can actually skip the battles if you really run so fast. However, the adventure rank adds up experience when you open a chest, unlock way points, unlock statues in a certain area and finish quests. If you also run from battles you will not basically get the experience from those mobs and items that those mobs drop. Items that could be a requirement in Ascending.
Ascending is a checkpoint in the character progression. The ascension is counted by 20s. When you reach 20 you can no longer receive experience and you need to get some item requirements to be able to unlock the next 20 levels of the character.
Each ascension level the requirement becomes harder and harder to get. The primary ingredient requires drops from a boss. Bosses are scattered across the map and since it is an open world you might bump on some of them during your errands.
My characters so far are not even close yet to be considered strong. I think I have a 5 days login streak, I don’t play often but definitely will make more posts about this game.
For free to play, you will not get bored because of the gameplay even if you don’t have the character that you really wanted, it is still fun to play with. Besides the main quests you still have other side quests to choose from and they have different difficulties.
I am trying to set up the iPad for vlogging to post it finally in our youtube channel. If you have suggestions let’s hear it in the comment section.
