This Year's Final Review Will Be For Super Citycon

The New Year is approaching and I revealed a great deal this year with my deep obsession about city building. This City Building game really occupied me in the recent months and now I am dropping the review.

I tried Sandship and it didn’t cut it as it has an impossible mechanic in progressing. Now that I moved on with Super Citycon. This was developed by Ben Willes Games SL. It really gained traction this year as this game was a perfect alternative to Sim City.

This is the City Building game that focuses on the creativity of the player on how he can manage his City and not focusing on the timer constraints. Your main ceiling in the game is as you progress the buildings require quite a number of Citycon buildings. One Citycon building is equivalent to 1 construction slot. Initially you will be given at least 2 construction slots if you play enough you can add another 1 which will be enough for a certain amount of time. At a certain level like Level 20, where you actually unlock buildings like skyscrapers. Some Skyscrapers require 4 to 5 construction slots to be able to upgrade. Though it can be sometimes annoying at the very least, that is your only requirement. No other materials to be considered.

While the construction part of the game has advantages to the players, there was also an annoying challenge in the game. As game developers are having a very hard time to have a monetary reward on what they do, I guess that’s the main purpose of ads.

At the least is not to annoy but to have a clear way to earn out of the game developed.

The main features of the game besides that there are no obvious timers, are the views. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing your city up close. You can zoom into your city and see the area as if you were viewing it on Google Earth.

The mechanics of the game are mainly as if you are a Tycoon. You will be managing the pollution, power, water, food and the satisfaction of your people. Though there is no real downside if you lack any of these, you will be just annoyed that you will be reminded of what you are missing in your city or lacking in your city.

I really do enjoy managing the city and just being creative in positioning the buildings and the roads. The challenge also is getting as many Supercash as I can, so to do that, it is important to do quests that have Supercash rewards and have as much Treasure chest if you got lucky.

I usually mention graphics in most of my reviews but Super Citycon has no heavy graphics, it renders like a Lego city which I really enjoyed. It doesn’t have much flare like other city building games but it gives you retro feels. Graphics is important but it should run on your phone so having the aesthetic like Minecraft or Lego is a big plus to me. The graphics and the style really served its purpose.

It can be taxing at times, that to get rewards you need to watch ads, but still the game gives you the option to say no. The ads are not an automatic thing, you still need to agree that you will watch their ads to get the reward.

This will be a series where I have unlocked the new area, and I saw that there is a new add-on called Ancient China.  I am excited to unlock it in the next few weeks. You will be reading a lot more about this in the next few weeks.
