Genshin Impact Brings A Whole New Mechanic On The Table

It is not new that I am coming in and out of Genshin Impact and that is for the right reasons. Either I have a new phone and I forgot the password, or the game content is just more of a frustration than excitement.

And I think I am beginning to love the game again.

I quit 2023 when I got Neuvilette and then came back on version 5 when Mualani came out. The anniversary is not that enticing to me to be honest so I lasted a few weeks then quit again. I showed up just before a re-run of the Raiden Shogun banner but I failed to get her weapon that time.

Just pure disappointment.

But hey! I managed to stick around trying to get a very good shielder out of Thoma or Layla. My Thoma right now doesn't use the “usual” artifact for him, but it is concentrated with his HP.

This post is not about Thoma though but rather a quick line up of things I discovered in the game that you can do with your account today.

It is not a guarantee that these discoveries would improve your account or your characters but it will improve on how you play the game and on how you actually build your characters in the long run.

These are more of a suggestive approach as it is not always the case for every character. As a free to play character the odds of having a good set of artifacts is really a struggle.

  1. There are now artifacts that have the same options as the other artifacts. For a character that relies on HP, you can use Tenacity of the  Millelith and Vourakasha’s Glow that on 2 a piece set, they give 20% HP to the character.

  2. Old characters can have their new purpose bearing the new sets of artifacts from Fontaine or Natlan. However, some artifacts are specifically works for Natlan characters only.

  3. If there is always a power creep among DPS, Support characters never lose their usability even for characters from Natlan or Fontaine. No utility creep for support.

With this a whole lot of combinations will be available for the old characters. Though the support will be the usual composition, the damage would be more interesting now. New Artifacts, and new mechanics bring a whole new experience to the table.

The Bond Of Life though has some negative aspects to it. You can’t be healed!

I understand Arlecchino if that’s her (or his) attribute as a harbinger, I don’t think to be healed because of the Bond of Life mechanic is necessary. Put the “Can’t be Healed” mechanic to Arlecchino but having that tied to the Bond of Life is a little bit of a turn off. Especially if it only bumps up your damage at least to 30%?

You can do a lot better than that Hoyoverse.

Why not meet in the middle, Bond of Life can have that can not be healed mechanic but for a certain level in the HP. The Bond of Life should automatically be cancelled when the hero in the field reaches 10% of its max health. The Bond of Life can not work without life right? So there should be a limit where the Bond of Life can be cancelled at some point at the character's HP.

The new mechanics of most of the artifacts now are focusing on the new characters but who told us that it can only be use by new ones?
