League Of Legends: What Made Me Switch?
There is a lot going on in the competitive world of ESports specially on League Of Legends Wild Rift. And this is what we target to cover more in the blog, I am x days late but what the hey, I am catching up with the news in the ICONS Wild Rift Global Championship.
Honestly, I have been playing on and off on Wild Rift ever since it was released on mobile, back then I did not feel the connection yet with the game. Then just recently I was able to find the rhythm. If Mobile Legends has very fast-paced clashes, Wild Rift is somewhat like a dance.
Wild Rift is the Mobile version of League of Legends that is on PC. Created by Riot Games, League of Legends has been in the MOBA-sphere since 2009. When most of the game is going mobile, they released Wild Rift in 2020. The game increased in popularity when it went mobile, and more players appreciate the game with a more balanced gameplay.
With me playing the game, the game is more focused on the synchronicity of the champions. Makes me go back to the old DOTA mod in Warcraft. They are not all killers, they play an important role in the team and in the game. In fact, some of the players had a toxic experience on gaming with other popular mobile MOBA games. Everybody wants a kill! Where it is not the kills makes you good, playing your part is always great! It benefits the team and it shows what kind of player you are. It doesn’t matter if you are a Support or Tank, you don’t have to kill, you just need to play as a Support if you're a Support and you need to protect the team if you are a Tank.
I noticed in Wild Rift, though the gameplay is a bit relaxed and slow paced but when teams clash, the pace becomes a rhythm. At first I didn’t get it immediately, but the thing is when the team started to clash with the enemy, I was able to strategize right in the middle of the clash. Though my champion is not always in the middle of it all, the enemy usually comes to me because I am the most fragile. I always play support or Mid Lane and I always play my part to help out the team. Go rounds and help out on some lanes and support whatever I can. Majority of the time I use Seraphine. She is a Mid Laner as well but I just use Support. She is very easy to use however timing is of the essence and I was able to do that on clash because of the game tempo of Wild Rift. I can not say it is slow, I think a much more appropriate term is relaxed. I think that I appreciate the game, it is really like a Lo-fi version of a fast paced game.
Seraphine as a support usually on the backline when the team clash starts. Her abilities rely on her teammates. When she uses a skill Seraphine and her teammates that are within her range get a crystal. That crystal can be fatal when Seraphine does her normal attack; those crystals that are with her and her teammates, fly over the target and damage the target in the process. It is really cool to be honest. I was able to plan and execute smoothly because there is no extravagant animation on the skill that would block your view of your champion, it is much simpler and cleaner.
When I watched the ICON and the clash there was such graceful amazing execution of the pro gamers. It is not that stressful though there are shoutcasters the clash itself is not stressing your eyes much with exploding animation.
Currently Wild Rift is in its Season 5 and I want to finish the season whatever my rank is, I am currently in Gold IV and I hope to do more. Sometimes I was forced to use other heroes. It is either Seraphine is banned, or the matchmaking forced me to use a different role in the team. I will feature more on Seraphine but enjoy this video of Vayne from my Archives.
See you in the ICONS. GG.
