Bubble: The Anime Made Me Burst Into Joy - Spoiler Alert

From flashbacks and retro let’s jump forward to a new Tokyo where Tokyo is enclosed in a big bubble. This is no retro anime but this is definitely an amazing anime where parkour and love bursts into a one feel good anime. There is a hint of a love story probably but it was not emphasized so it's good.

This post we will review the anime Bubble.

When you watch the movie Bubble on Netflix there is a very short intro about the movie but it is not my selling point. I know it is good because the opening song is made by E ve. The same artist that sang the opening song of Jujutsu Kaisen. I knew it would be amazing and I am not wrong!

Bubble is set in the future of Japan where a strange anomaly occurred in the World. Literally all over the world it is raining bubbles. However when the bubbles stopped for the rest of the world, in Tokyo it didn’t. Tokyo became encased in a big bubble, and when this happened the bubbles burst and caused floods. With that Tokyo became inhabitable and people were forced to go outside the bubble. Some people were found going inside the big bubble, and found that inside it has some gravitational abnormalities. That is where the Parkour competition started since it seems people can jump a bit more efficiently inside the bubble.

I credit the author of this anime that it seems they kind of explained the bubble thing and not left the viewers with what happened. Though it was not mentioned why the bubble phenomena happened, I think it is good enough for me to know why there is a bubble encasing Tokyo. For me a little bit of history to how it came to be is good enough instead of two people being switched back and forth to their reality just to learn something happened a few years back.

The anime made sense of why there is some parkour competition in an inhabitable city and why Hibiki, our main character, has hearing ultrasensitivity. City life has been a torture at Hibiki’s early age. A train can really burst his ears that is why he is always on a big pair of headset. This condition of Hibiki became a way to insert his big connection to Uta, our cute bubble mermaid if you call her a mermaid. Technically Uta is a product of the bubble that came from Hibiki to her. Uta is just a bubble in the movie and when it merges to Hibiki’s when he drowned in the water, the bubble turned into a female. Then when Uta interacts with Hibiki, she becomes a bubble again.

Parkour is the best sport to showcase the gravitational abnormalities of the place. It is the perfect sport to showcase the ultimate cliche of all. I have a feeling that this is coming, that in the final moments of the movie I know they can not face it all, the entity behind the bubbles. In the event that Uta was “captured” obviously Hibiki’s response is to “save”. In the final moments even our talented Hibiki will not be able to jump that high even with the gravitational advantage of the place, the obvious response of his team mates is to propel him further. Hibiki will jump over his team captain, similar to what happened to the Final Fantasy Advent Children.

In the entirety of the movie, there is no dull moment, there are just a few moments of Uta and Hibiki however, like I said for me it is still mild. It was just a brief moment when Hibiki is telling Uta what he feels then action again.

A review should not spoil further the story. Bubble is a feel good movie and it is not boring actually, there are no gaps on the transition of the story. It is always a rush, the parkour element really made it more interesting. Catch it on Netflix.
