Anime On Netflix: The Bright Blue Flame of The Blue Exorcist
Most of the time that is the criteria why I watch the Anime because it is in English. I have nothing against not English dubbed however I don’t want to read while watching. I want to be watching otherwise I will just read.
You will really watch this because of the story and not because of anything else. I am a fan of plot twists that continues to mold the whole story all over again. The story is around the life of Rin Okumura and his brother that discovered that they are the spawn of Satan. They are both raised by Shiro Fujimoto a Catholic Priest that was possessed by the devil before he actually died.
In the beginning, the world was described as there are the material world and the world of the demon. These 2 worlds are attached and mirrored with each other, they are called Assiah where humans live, and then Gehenna where Satan rules. As explained, if this Assiah, then I have the worst version of me in Gehenna.
The main plot is that Rin Okumura decided to practice exorcism that awed a lot of people revealing his real father, Satan. Then the brothers slowly discovered the life of their father in the eyes of the people that knew their father. Then Rin discovered that his twin brother that all his life he chose to protect was actually an exorcist already. At a very young age, Yukio trained to be the best exorcist after his father. Will it be Yukio who will be the one teaching Rin about Exorcism? Or Rin will teach Yukio how Father Shiro would do it?
Then they discovered that their father was a Paladin. The highest rank an exorcist can get not to mention Father Shiro was the best Paladin that the Academy has.
Though there is a bit similarity already to a lot of adventure type Animes that there is this young boy that is being undermined by the society turns out to be the hero of the day, you know the picture.

Season 1 is around the discovery of Rin’s powers and how people around him reminded by the same Blue Flame that killed a lot of people. With the early passing of Father Shiro, Rin was entrusted to Mephisto Pheles the principal of True Cross Academy. Then Rin was warned not to show his Blue Flame to other students. Then of course that would not happen.
Rin’s friends discovery of his power reciprocated instantly because of the reminder of the Blue Flame. Now Rin would win back the trust of his friends again.
Season 2 has a lot of flashbacks of old foes of Father Shiro, Ghosts of the past, and old friends as well. Still, on the watchlist of the Vatican, the main headquarters of the Exorcist, he met a lot of class A Exorcist including the newly installed Paladin, Arthur A.Angel. Here they are to find out the true powers of the Impure King.
I have no intention to spoil everything but Season 2 is definitely a must-watch. This is really the plot twist that began. Technically a revenge story but it is more of redemption for Rin and for the others that were involved in it.
There is a lot more in Manga which I will read in the coming weeks. I was a bit hang on the story that there is so much more especially there is a lot of different congregation around and I really want to know the next move of Mephisto he is really intriguing me a lot.
